Set up commerce messaging

Connect a Facebook catalog to your WhatsApp Business Account to be able to sell products and services on WhatsApp.

How to configure your WhatsApp channel for sending commerce messages

  • A catalog can only be associated with one WhatsApp Business Account at a time.

  • A WhatsApp Business Account can only be connected to one catalog.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. In Bird, go to Enable channels > WhatsApp > All channels and select the WhatsApp channel you want to send commerce messages from.

  2. Click the Settings tab.

  3. Under 'Product Catalog ID', enter the ID of the catalog you created in Facebook's Commerce Manager.

  4. [Optional] Switch the 'Shopping cart' toggle to 'On'. When enabled, this displays art-related buttons in the conversation, catalog, and product details. See Facebook's documentation for more information.

  5. [Optional] Switch the 'Catalog' toggle to 'On'. When enables, this displays storefront-relates buttons in conversation and business profile views. See Facebook's documentation for more information.

Ensure you can handle order or product inquiry messages now that commerce messages have been set up on your WhatsApp channel.
